Nurse Practitioner Students
FNP / AGNP / PMHNP TracksRotation Focus
Adult primary care and internal medicine — chronic disease management, preventive health, telemedicine, and DPC-model visits. You'll follow the same patients over multiple visits, not just single encounters.

Medical Students
Core Clerkship / Away RotationRotation Focus
Ambulatory internal medicine clerkship or elective — outpatient chronic disease management and preventive care alongside an attending physician, start to finish.

Osteopathic Medical Students
COCA Rotation / OMM ElectiveRotation Focus
Ambulatory family/internal medicine rotation with the added opportunity to observe and assist with OMM/OMT integrated directly into primary care visits — a rare pairing in an outpatient setting.

Your Rotation Experience
Every track follows the same core progression, paced to your program's requirements and your own readiness.
Orientation & Onboarding
HIPAA refresher, EHR walkthrough, clinic workflow, and introductions to the full care team — so you're oriented before you ever step into a patient room.
Shadow & Observe
Sit in on in-person and telemedicine visits, chronic disease management, and — for DO students especially — OMM/OMT sessions integrated into primary care.
Guided Patient Encounters
Take histories, perform exams, and manage visits directly under your preceptor's supervision, with responsibility increasing as your comfort and competency grow.
Independent Case Presentations
Present your assessment and plan for real patients directly to your preceptor — building the clinical reasoning and documentation habits you'll carry into practice.
Final Evaluation & Letter of Recommendation
Complete your program's formal evaluation forms with your preceptor. Students who perform strongly are welcome to request a letter of recommendation.

General Rotation Requirements

- ✓ School-issued clinical affiliation agreement (or willingness to initiate one)
- ✓ Current immunization records and TB screening
- ✓ Completed background check and drug screening
- ✓ Current BLS/CPR certification
- ✓ Proof of professional/malpractice liability insurance through your program
- ✓ Completed HIPAA training
- ✓ Defined rotation dates, expected weekly hours, and program evaluation forms
About Affiliation Agreements
Most schools require a signed affiliation agreement between their institution and Luckycharm Primary Care before a student can begin. If your program doesn't already have one on file with us, we're glad to work with your clinical placement office to establish one. Please plan ahead — this step can take several weeks to months to finalize.
